Zero Waste indulgences? Sounds like a total contradiction, but they do exist! This coffee and cacao body scrub created by WOWW beauty writer Kirsty Mootz from Parva Skincare is heaven in a reusable jar and it’s a great way to jump start your day. It’s not only guaranteed to make you feel amazing from head to toe, but it’s kind to the environment too as it’s plastic and chemical free – yay! And the best thing about it? You can make it yourself with only a few ingredients in under 5 minutes. Yep! It’s also an awesome way to reuse your coffee grounds. I was lucky enough to snaffle this recipe when I attended Kirsty’s Zero Waste Skincare workshop recently at the Work-Shop in Sydney’s Redfern. Keep an eye out on their website for Kirsty’s fab Zero Waste courses. She also teaches a DIY beeswax wrap course. If you’re time poor and want sublime skincare you can shop for Kirsty’s organic skincare products that come in compostable and reusable packaging at her etsy shop. And follow her on Instagram @parva.little.things This body scrub can be made with any kind of food grade quality oil that you like to use on your skin. Olive oil is lovely as is coconut. You can swap the essential oils for any flavour you fancy – or leave them out all together. Slatter it on wet skin in the shower from the neck down scrubbing gently in circles and then wash it down the drain. You can use it once or twice a week. Be careful not to get water in the jar or it could get mouldy. It’s best to only make enough for a couple of weeks at a time and use it up within a fortnight. COFFEE & CACAO BODY SCRUB
